World War Two Rules for Division and Corps Level battles.

There are two set of rules here [there will eventually be a third, Field Marshal].   The Two and Three Star General rules share a common structure and play mechanisms. The difference in scale between commanding a division and commanding a corps leads to subtle changes.  But once you get the hang of one set the second set is easy to pick up.

These sets of rules owe a debt to a number of rule sets designed for division level and larger battles which have been knocking around the internet for several years as well as various [make that many] commercial sets I have purchased and played over the years.  You will find ideas inspired by Megablitz, Division Commander and Panzer Corps amongst many others.

Two Star General  - World War 2 rules and scenarios.

This first set of WW2 rules is intended for fighting battles of around division size.    The basic unit is a Battalion made up of 4 stands.  Three combat company stands  and one Head Quarters stand.   A number of support platoons can be attached to the battalion including mortars, machine guns, anti tank guns etc.

The size of stand and scale of figure used is irrelevant.    As long as one company stand, a single support platoon and a transport vehicle can fit comfortably into one hex.   For these rules I tend to use my old HO scale figures.

I have kept the layout  and graphics in the rules purposely as simple as possible so that they can be printed legibly and hopefully without consuming all of the ink of a standard home printer.

Three Star General  - World War 2 rules and scenarios.

This set of WW2 rules is intended for fighting battles of around corps size.    The basic unit is a Regiment or Brigade made up of 4 stands.  Three battalion sized stands and one Head Quarters stand.   A number of support companies can be attached to the Regiment including fire suport, anti tank guns and combat engineers.

The size of stand and scale of figure used is irrelevant.    As long as one battaliom stand and a single support company can fit comfortably into one hex.   For these rules I tend to use 10mm, 1/200 and 1/285 scale figures.   I actualy think that the rule mechanism works and feels best at this scale.

I have kept the layout  and graphics in the rules purposely as simple as possible so that they can be printed legibly and hopefully without consuming all of the ink of a standard home printer.
